Insecurity: Government imposes curfew on Bawku and its environs

The Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery, has imposed a curfew on Bawku in the Upper East Region and its surroundings from 4:00 pm to 6:00 am effective Wednesday, November 24.

The Minister cited “threats of insecurity in the communities concerned” as the reason behind the curfew imposition.

The Minister calls on all aggrieved residents to choose legal procedures to register their displeasures over violence.

Residents are cautioned by government against keeping “arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons” else suffer prosecution.
