MANCHESTER UNITED PLANS TO BEAT CHELSEA TO 22-YEAR OLD FRANCE INTERNATIONAL

According to the Daily Express, Sevilla are concerned about the possibility of Manchester United making a January approach for the France international in order to bolster Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s defence.

According to the same publication, Sevilla are eager to keep the 22-year-services old’s because they are one point behind La Liga leaders Real Sociedad, while FC Barcelona and Real Madrid continue to struggle this season. Chelsea FC failed with a £42.5 million offer for Kounde in the summer transfer window of 2021, according to the same report, as Sevilla managed to keep the France defender despite his apparent eagerness in a move to London. According to AS, Sevilla are more concerned about Manchester United putting their commitment to keep Kounde in the January transfer window to the test, given the Red Devils’ 17 goals in 11 Premier League games this season. According to the Spanish press, Kounde would be a good fit for Solskjaer since he would give protection and competition for summer signing Raphael Varane and captain Harry Maguire.

Chelsea FC could revive their interest in Kounde, according to the source, because Thomas Tuchel hasn’t made a major transfer in the centre-back position, instead relying on veteran Thiago Silva, German defender Antonio Rudiger, and Denmark international Andreas Christensen. This season, Kounde has played 900 minutes of La Liga football to help Sevilla battle Real Sociedad and Real Madrid for first place.

In 2019, the Spanish side paid €25 million to Bordeaux for Kounde, who had been linked with Chelsea FC throughout the summer.

In the summer, the defender made his senior France debut and has since played five times for his country.
