Gianluca Di Marzio, a transfer specialist, has provided an update on Chelsea’s inform defenders’ future, and it does not bode well for Chelsea fans.

Under Thomas Tuchel, Rudiger has developed into probably Chelsea’s best central defender, and he’ll put in another strong performance against Norwich this Saturday.

This is in stark contrast to the first part of the 2020/21 season, when the stopper was heavily criticised under Frank Lampard.

Despite his resurgence in popularity, Rudiger’s long-term future at Chelsea has been uncertain for some time. This comes as the German’s current contract at the Bridge is set to expire in less than a year.

Rudiger gave an update on his contract situation in August, and it appeared to be good news for Rudiger fans, with the player revealing that he had begun conversations with Chelsea about extending his contract:

Despite the fact that Rudiger is still definitely an important part of Chelsea’s set-up, we haven’t heard anything since.

And now, as previously noted, transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio has spoken about Rudiger’s condition, and it does not bode well for Chelsea supporters. Rudiger is in talks with Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, and PSG, according to Di Marzio, who spoke to Wetten Freunde [as cited by].

“Rudiger is in talks with Juventus, Man City, Tottenham, and even PSG, who still need a defender,” Di Marzio stated, adding that it is difficult to imagine the defender signing a new contract with Chelsea and that he would join one of the four teams named. It’s hard to imagine him signing a new contract. He’ll join one of the four teams that have been named.”
