For the third time,
Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has been denied bail ahead of his trial on numerous counts of rape and sexual assault.
The 27-year-old is accused of attacking three women at his Cheshire home between October 2020 and August 2021.
Mr Mendy was not present at the court and is being imprisoned on remand at HMP Altcourse in Liverpool.
He has yet to enter a plea to four counts of rape and one case of sexual assault.
On August 26,
the defendant was charged with three counts of rape in connection with an alleged occurrence in October 2020,
as well as the sexual assault of a woman in early January this year.
he was also accused of raping a lady.
The France international has been detained for nearly seven weeks,
with a trial date set for January 24.
He joined Manchester City from Monaco for a reported £52 million in 2017,
but was suspended by the club after being charged by police,
pending an investigation.
