NEWCASTLE UNITED ARE CONSIDERING A TRANSFER RAID FOR FOUR UNITED PLAYERS.

During the January transfer window, Newcastle United are planning a raid on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

The Magpies are likely to part with a large sum of money this winter after being purchased for £305 million by a Saudi Arabian-backed consortium.

The club is thought to have chosen four Manchester United players to sign after they failed to secure a regular starting spot with the Red Devils.

Newcastle are reportedly planning bids for Donny van de Beek, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, and Eric Bailly, according to The Mirror.

Van de Beek’s Manchester United experience has been far from ideal, with only five minutes of Premier League playing time under his belt. As a result, the 24-year-old, who had his heart set on a loan transfer to Everton, could seize the chance to join Newcastle.

Lingard is another player who may look to leave Old Trafford during the winter transfer window.

Lingard’s best performances for Manchester United during the 2017-18 season. He scored 13 goals and was a key figure in England’s World Cup journey to the semi-finals in Russia.

He had two disappointing seasons after that, and was eventually loaned out to West Ham. In just 16 appearances, he scored nine goals and added five assists. Lingard was open to returning to West Ham on a permanent basis during the summer transfer window after helping the Hammers qualify for Europe.

He decided to stay at Old Trafford after being persuaded by Solskjaer that he was a part of his first-team ambitions. He has struggled to make an appearance since then.

Another player who could go this winter is Anthony Martial. After a slump in form last season, the 25-year-old struggled to make an impression, scoring just seven goals in 36 games, and has mostly played off the bench this season. As a result, he has been given permission to begin looking for a new club. However, if Newcastle decides to pursue the forward, they will have to part with £40 million due to United’s high asking price.

Meanwhile, Bailly, who joined United for £30 million from Villarreal in 2016 as Jose Mourinho’s first signing, has slid down the pecking order under the current boss.

United’s captain, Harry Maguire, has favoured Victor Lindelof as his partner, limiting Bailly’s opportunities. Raphael Varane’s arrival has pushed him even further out of the picture.
