Following Rafael Benitez’s appointment as manager of the Toffees, the midfielder has decided to continue his career in Qatar.
Everton’s James Rodriguez has joined Qatari club Al Rayyan.
After Rafael Benitez came over as manager, the midfielder lost his place in the Toffees lineup this season.
James traveled to Qatar this week to meet with the squad lead by ex-France coach Laurent Blanc, and the two sides have reached an agreement.
James Rodriguez is set to leave Everton in the coming days after agreeing to join Qatari side Al Rayyan.
On Sunday, the former Real Madrid playmaker was spotted at Manchester Airport, apparently on his way to Qatar for medicals.
The arrangement between Everton and Al Rayyan is still being worked out, but James is expected to join the Qatari club on a loan deal.
The Colombian had also piqued the curiosity of Italian, Turkish, and Portuguese clubs, but none of them could afford to pay his salary.
Although James has yet to sign a contract with Al Rayyan, the three parties have reached an agreement.
