CONFIRMED ,Contract signed, DEAL DONE – Aaron Ramsdale joins Arsenal on a permanent deal from Sheffield United

Following weeks of discussions to bring the Sheffield United goalkeeper to north London, Arsenal has finalized the permanent signing of Aaron Ramsdale.

Following the end of Mat Ryan’s loan last season, the 23-year-old joins on a one-year deal worth an initial £24 million.

Various add-ons, like as first-team appearances, England caps, and European involvement, may bring the total to £6 million.

Mikel Arteta had been looking for a young, homegrown alternative to fill a need in the squad, and considered the Stoke-born goalkeeper as the right contender to challenge Bernd Leno in the Premier League.

With two years remaining on his contract, Ramsdale has the opportunity to not only offer cover this season, but possibly compete for a starting berth in the club.

Alex Runarsson was on the edge of leaving this summer, with a transfer to Altay in Turkey already falling through, and now that this transaction has been finalized, the prospects of a loan or permanent departure for the Iceland international are increasing. The number 32 shirt will be worn by Ramsdale.
