Akuffo-Addo In Trouble As NDC MP Vows To Do This

President Akuffo-Addo’s decision to pay salaries to Rebecca Akuffo-Addo and Samira Bawumia is likely to suffer a setback as National Democratic Congress’ Member of Parliament for the South Dayi constituency vows to challenge it at the Supreme court.

A five-member Presidential Emoluments Committee chaired by Prof. Yaa Ntiamoah-Baidu recommended for the approval of the 7th Parliament to pay salaries to First and Second Ladies.

The move has generated a lot of conversation and has positioned government as insensitive to the plights of the citizenry during this difficult times.

Reacting to the debate, Rockson Dafeamakor has questioned the constitutional basis of the recommendation and approval and has promised to invoke the courts to determine whether or not the decision is constitutional.

“I will file a writ at the Supreme court to challenge this. If salaries have to be paid to our First ladies, it should go through the right process”.

The youth wing of the opposition National Democratic Congress has also promised to challenge the illegal assault on the public purse by the government.
