Kylian Mbappe has a contract with the French club until June 2022, but Real Madrid has been linked with a move.
In response to media speculation surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s future, Paris St Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi stated that the French international will remain at the Ligue 1 club next season.
Mbappe, who scored 42 goals for PSG this season in all competitions, has a contract with the French club until June 2022, but has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in La Liga.
“Let me be clear: Mbappe is staying in Paris,” Al-Khelaifi told the publication L’Equipe.
“We will never sell him, and he will never be allowed to leave on his own” (transfer). In Paris, Mbappe has everything he requires.
“What options does he have? What club today can compete with PSG in terms of ambition? All I can say is that things are moving well and that I am hopeful that we will be able to come to an agreement (on a new contract).
“This is his nation, and this is Paris. He is on a mission to promote Ligue 1, his country, and his capital, in addition to playing football.”
After losing the Ligue 1 title by one point to Lille and tumbling out of the Champions League semi-finals, PSG finished the season with only one major trophy, the French Cup.
