Overthrow plotters needed to catch Akufo-Addo, Bawumia et al at one capacity – Prosecutor

Arraignment witness Colonel Isaac Amponsah has told an Accra High Court that individuals from Take Action Ghana (TAG) wanted to catch the President, Vice President, Speaker of Parliament and the Chief Justice.

During interrogation on account of ACP Benjamin Agorzor and nine others, Col Amponsah said the arrangement was to catch the four characters at a capacity where every one of them were available.

The Director of Operational Intelligence of the Defense Intelligence Department of the Ghana Armed Forces, Colonel Amponsah, described “on the fifth July, a discussion between Dr. Macintosh Palm and the BNI witness who had penetrated the TAG, Dr. Macintosh Palm gave subtleties of all the arrangement including the impeding of 66 Artillery Regiment, the Jubilee House, and demonstrated that they will obstruct all the exit and passage course so Ofori-Atta and every one of the huge folks can’t get away”.

Colonel Amponsah in addressing inquiries from counsel for five of the charged, Victor Kojogah Adawudu, demanded the gathering likewise intended to bomb National Communications Authority (NCA) to close down every radio broadcast. He further expressed Dr. Macintosh Palm “additionally discussed catching of the president and alluded to a capacity that occurred in the north”.

ACP Agordzo and Dr Mac Palm along with eight others asserted to have assumed different parts trying to destabilize the nation have argued not blameworthy to four charges.

The 10 blamed people, who were on bail prior for treachery lawful offense, were re-captured by the NIB and hit with charges of scheme to submit high conspiracy, high injustice and abetment.

The charge of high injustice is high than the prior charge of conspiracy and the court sitting was directed by three High Court judges managed by Justice Afia Serwaa Asare Botwe.

Every one of the blamed people are said to have a place with a gathering called Take Action Ghana (TAG).

In June 2018, security offices got insight of the gathering’s supposed arrangement to oust the public authority and usurp chief forces.
