“Four years is not enough to position the economy on a sure path” – John Kuffour

Former President John Agyekum Kuffour has said that the four year mandate given to the government is not enough to position Ghana’s economy on the sure path of growth.

According to the ‘gentle giant’, the economy is not a cassava farm for it to mature within two years therefore citizens need to exercise restraint and minimize their expectations.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Angel TV, Mr. Kuffour disclosed no government is able to grow an economy within it’s first term. He said no government will will spend a year putting it’s machinery together before it begins to implement it’s campaign promises in only two years.

The government also needs to be thinking about the next elections within this time frame, thus, it is very difficult to put the economy on a path of progress.

Responding to a question on how the citizens are crying over the hikes in commodities and it’s hardships brought to the Ghanaian, the former President pleaded with Ghanaians to be patient and understand that the government needs enough time to work hard to grow the economy.
