H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akofu-Addo, Others Join Forces To Plant 5 Million Trees Under Maiden Green Ghana Day

Today marks the day of planting of trees across the country as our maiden Green Ghana Day. This exercise is ongoing today with H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, with some others including Ex President John Agyekum Kufour, Ex President John Dramani Mahama and on process of Planting 5 million trees across the 16 regions in the country.

This planting is to help our forest and also the whether can cool down for rain water and again beautify the forest as well. This comes with different species to help to plant those suppose to plant in the town and those in the forest to help us. Minster for Lands and Natural Resources Hon. Abdulai Gynapo calls Ghana Journalists and explain to them that this exercise is very big investment for our forestry to help us, because looking at the Galamsey people destroying our forest, water bodies and it trees, then we need to plant more trees to replace them to help the future generations. So he explained that H. E. Nana Addo and vice president Dr. Bawomia and Speaker of Parliament Albann S. Bagbin, among other leaders comes together to plant more trees to help us.

This exercise is going to be all the 16 region including here in Accra this week. They further said, as we are moving forward, the planting of trees will also bring us money from timber, some trees like Wawa, Shear trees, and others that will help us.
