Police in Ho, the capital of the Volta Region, have detained 21 Ghanaians accused of being members of the LGBTQI community.
The suspects were apprehended while attending a conference at the Nurses and Midwives Hotel.
They were said to be in possession of some books, which the cops claim proves they’re gays having an illegal gathering.
Unnatural carnal knowledge is illegal in Ghana.
The defendants were charged with unlawful assembly before the Ho Circuit Court.
They were not granted bail and were remanded in custody until June 4th.
