Big Five Personality Traits

Trait is a distinguishing quality or characteristic, typically one belonging to a person.

Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving.

The big five personality traits or OCEAN model is a suggested grouping for personality traits which was developed in the 1980s.

Openness ( actions, ideas, imaginations); an individual can be inventive and curious or consistent and cautious.

Conscientious( self-discipline, competence); an individual can be efficient and organised or extravagant and careless.

Extraversion( sociability);an individual can be outgoing and energetic or solitary and reserved.

Agreeableness( trustworthy, cooperative); an individual can be friendly and compassionate or critical and rational.

Neuroticism( tendency towards unstable emotions); an individual can be sensitive and nervous or resilient and confident.

It is important to know your personality traits so as to help in your relationship with others, decision making,etc.
