Juventus players are reportedly dissatisfied with Cristiano Ronaldo’s preferential treatment,
which has given the Portuguese forward much too much freedom.
On Wednesday, Ronaldo scored his 100th goal for Juventus,
but his team is in a tight battle to finish in the top four in Serie A,
with two games remaining.
Following AC Milan’s 3-0 loss to Andrea Pirlo’s side on Sunday,
Ronaldo was reportedly given the day off the next day to collect his new Ferrari Monza,
while his teammates were required to report for training.
According to the Daily Mail,
the other Juve players are dissatisfied with Ronaldo’s favorable treatment,
and the 36-year-old has now become an outcast within the squad.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future is uncertain,
as he is thought to be uninterested in playing Europa League football if the
Old Lady fails to qualify for the Champions League next season.
“I treat him as I treat all the other players.
I’m always available on and off the field. It’s easy to have a good relationship with humble people.
I’m like that,” manager Pirlo said in November
, dismissing claims that he gives Ronaldo special treatment.
“I treat him as I would two young players,
Gianluca Frabotta and Manolo Portanova.
When I was a player
, I did the same things I used to do.”
Ronaldo signed a one-year contract extension with the Italian giants
after arriving at the Allianz Stadium in 2018.
