Carlos Vinicius, a striker for Tottenham Hotspur, is expected to return to Benfica this season.
According to Sky Sports, the 26-year-old has failed to make an impact since joining on a season-long loan,
missing three of the last four matchday squads, including the Carabao Cup final.
Vinicius has had the unenviable task of competing with and providing a foil for Harry Kane, and in nine Premier League games, he has only scored once.
The club is unlikely to exercise the £36 million buyout clause of Vinicius’ loan agreement,
and will instead search for other alternatives when the next transfer window opens.
