President Nana Akkofo Addo reiterated his commitment in fighting Galamsey in Ghana.
In an interview, the president said his government will re-introduced measures to fight illegal mining.
He stressed that his government and the military will surely bring an end to the menace because a lot of water bodies are polluted.

The government recently renewed its commitment to fight illegal mining at a National Consultative Dialogue on Small Scale Mining, because stakeholders charged the government to strictly apply the country’s mining laws.
President ordered renewal of prospecting licences in the forest.
This made the president to take quick action.
The government ordered persons undertaking prospecting activities in the forest reserve across the country to indefinitely suspend such activities.
The president deployed 200 military to embark on the operation to sack all illegal miners away from the area.
