The hashtag #FixTheCountry is currently trending Number one in Ghana’s Twitter trends.

Many are wondering why the #FixTheCountry is trending on the American micro-blogging and social network service.

It all started when a section of irate Ghanaian youth took to the social media platform to express their disappointment at the New Patriotic Party(NPP) government spearheaded by President Nana Akufo-Addo for not fulfilling their promises.

Tweeps are currently fed over the increase in taxes, increase in fuel, power outages(dumsor), water shortage, corruption, the high unemployment rate among other issues Ghanais currently facing under the current government.

The majority of tweeps indicated that Ghanaian leaders both the NPP and the NDC have failed Ghanaians and it’s time the youth made their voices heard.

Some celebrities have added their voice to the trend and have called on the government to act now.

The majority of tweeps hailed social mediasensation, Twene Jonas, for always criticising the leaders to fix the country.

The movement was first started by Twitter influencer Kalyjay and later amassed massive support from other tweeps.
