David Alaba is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.
The Austrian international has agreed to join Los Blancos and will sign a contract after his Bayern Munich contract expires.
For a long time, Fabrizio Romano, one of the most dependable journalists
when it comes to player transfers, has been reporting on the move.
According to an Italian journalist, David Alaba has agreed to join Real Madrid and will receive a net salary of €12 million per season.
Bayern Munich wanted to keep the versatile player, but according to sources, he refused to accept their bid.
Earlier this year, David Alaba hinted at a potential move to Spain by saying:
“My Spanish isn’t great, but it’s decent enough for the pitch,” David Alaba says of his departure from Bayern Munich; a move to Real Madrid is possible.
With David Alaba’s deal at Bayern Munich coming to an end, he was able to speak with other clubs about his future.
The German club was confident in their ability to retain him,
but the offer from Los Blancos convinced him to change his mind.
Alaba confirmed his decision to leave the club this summer, saying:
“It was a difficult decision to make.
I’ve been here for 13 years, and the organization is very dear to me.
For several aspects, I am thankful to the association.
I took my time because making a decision is not something that can be done quickly.
I made the decision to try something different, to take on a new challenge. I haven’t made up my mind yet (about my new club),
so that will have to wait.
My management is in touch with many clubs, which is no secret.
However, a lot is being read into it, and I’d like to focus entirely on my task at hand.
My decision was not influenced by financial considerations.
” Sergio Ramos is expected to leave Real Madrid for free, according to reports.
He, too, has a contract that expires in the summer and has yet to be renewed.
