[Video] Over 100 students displaced after fire at Nsutaman Catholic SHS [Watch]

Though the actual source of the fire is yet to be ascertained, an eyewitness said the fire happened at the time classes were in session.

The fire is said to have started in one of the rooms in the girl’s dormitory.

There are no reported casualties so far,\. However, several properties are reported to have been destroyed.

Speaking on Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political talk show GhanAkoma, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Central Kwadwo Banahene Bediako explained that frantic efforts are being made to find alternative housing for the girls.

“Though most of the students have been displaced by the fire, we are making alternative arrangements to house the affected students to ensure teaching and learning are not gravely affected,” he told the host of the show Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin on Tuesday, April 27.

It took fire personnel from Asante Mampong various hours to moisten the Monday afternoon inferno.

One tutor who spoke on the situation of obscurity told 3news.com that” the incident partially halted academic work in the school, a problem that saw almost all the students run helter-skelter for cover”.

In less than a week, two fire catastrophes have been documented in the Asante Mampong enclave.

Recently, a fire ravaged the Mampong Technical College of Education’s regime block, destroying several important documents.
