Cristiano Ronaldo has been chastised for his results for Juventus in recent months,
and it has become something of a theme for his name to be mentioned whenever Andrea Pirlo’s side fails to win.
Florentina kept the Bianconeri to a 1-1 draw recently, and despite playing the entire 90 minutes, Ronaldo had little effect on the game.
The Portuguese maestro only had one opportunity in the game, which he failed to take advantage of.
Ronaldo misjudged his leap after Dejan Kulusevski sent in a cross for him to head into the target from close range.
Juventus would have won all three points if Ronaldo had scored,
but there was something lacking from his performance against Fiorentina.
Ronaldo could be saving his energy for the upcoming Euro championships,
according to Italian outlet Tuttosport, as reported by JuveFC.
The competition is set to begin after the end of the domestic season.
Tuttosport goes on to say that Ronaldo is nearly unstoppable,
and that Juve couldn’t beat Atalanta last week without him in the lineup.
They come to the conclusion that, while Juventus cannot afford to keep
underperforming players in the squad, they also cannot afford to drop Ronaldo,
despite his persistent underperformance.
