The staff of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have laid down their tools due to a protest against their managing director of the company.
The workers collectively said the persistent stay of the the MD could lead to the collapse of the company.
Reports show that, a customer said they refused to attend to him when he needed their services.
“I am here to seek clarity on some challenges i am having with my meter but when I arrived here I was told they are embarking on a demonstration. This will not help the customers”.
The workers in the past have been demanding the removal of the current Managing Director of the company over what they described as “incompetence” on his part.
They also alleged that several petitions to Mr.Agyeman-Badu to involve its rank and file in revenue mobilization since 2020 have been neglected.
The workers claimed that the MD’s continuous stay at post will collapse the electricity distribution company because to them,” he is grossly deficient when it comes to matters relating to administrative and corporate governance”.
The MD was also accused of breaching procurement processes.
