Chelsea have already made their first signing of the summer, according to reports in Brazil.

Silly season is now firmly underway with a good 7 or 8 matches left in the Premier League before the transfer window opens this summer.

But according to Brazilian radio presenter Paco Belmonte, Palmeiras midfielder Gabriel Menino is a Chelsea player, and the deal has been done for The Blues to sign him this summer.

Reports came in from other local sources earlier in the week that Chelsea had made a £13 million offer to sign the highly rated 20-year old, but those stories were only reported from Brazil, no English sources picked up on this.

Since this tweet reporting Chelsea had signed him last night, still no reliable sources close to Chelsea are reporting it.

In fact, one of the most reliable transfer sources around, Fabrizio Romano, denies that Chelsea have even signed Menino, and claims they are currently just scouting him as it stands.

We’ll have to keep an eye on this one.RELATED TOPICS:UP NEXTThomas Tuchel facing Season-Defining Antonio Rudiger decisionDON’T MISSErling Haaland drops Manchester City transfer hintCONTINUE READING

Chelsea have been closely linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland as the Blues reportedly search for a new forward in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea are among the clubs who have been linked with a summer move for Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.

Haaland, who has hit an impressive 88 goals in 111 career outings, is a man in demand and looks set to be in the middle of a transfer war between Europe’s most elite teams.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have been touted as a potential destination given the indifferent form of big money summer signing Timo Werner.

Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola, was pictured in Spain last week to hold talks over a potential summer switch with both Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Mundo Deportivo claim the super agent was due to travel to London over the weekend to also hold talks with Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.

The west London club face a monumental task to beat off competition for Haaland, but if they were to succeed, Chelsea fans will be pleased to know that the Norwegian striker is already a big fan of a Blues legend.

Haaland showed his admiration for former Chelsea midfielder and manager Frank Lampard by naming the Blues legend as the one retired player that he would have liked to have played with.

In a quick-fire Q&A with ESPN, Haaland was previously asked who the one player he’d want to have played with that has retired and replied: “Frank Lampard.”

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has stated that the club is not planning for anything other than Haaland remaining with the Bundesliga club next season.

“We don’t have a parallel plan. We will talk to Erling, his father and his agent, Mino Raiola, in peace.

“After all, we want him to be happy to stay with us and that he will score goals with conviction for BVB next year. There is no alternative plan,” he told DAZN.
