According to a statement released by the Service on Friday, a total of 494,530 candidates applied for placement into Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Schools out of a total of 533,693 candidates (TVETS).
On Sunday, February 28, the Ghana Education Service (GES) will release the 2020 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

In one of their options, a total of 343,264 were automatically put.
“However, it was not possible to align 151,266 eligible candidates with any of their choices.”
From a list of available colleges, students who fell into that group were asked to go for self-placement.
These students can receive a placement PIN from an authorised supplier and log in to www.cssps.gov.gh to apply their index numbers plus ’20’.
Those that are not automatically matched by their chosen schools can also go to any school for self-placement as many times as they want before they enroll in a school.
“Management of the Ghana Education Service wishes to inform all students, parents, and the general public that all schools with vacancies have been uploaded on the portal for students to choose from during self-placement without hitches,” says the release.
There will be no National Solutions Centre to be set up due to the raging Covid-19 pandemic, GES said in the declaration.
“Instead, to receive complaints and concerns, the GES Call Center will be involved.”
