Election Petition: Social Media Users ‘Blast’ Akufo Addo’s Lawyer

Lawyer Akoto Ampaw, a member of the legal counsel for the second respondent, President Nana Akufo-Addo, in the ongoing election petition hearing at the Supreme Court has been chastised and trolled by social media users over his attempt to ridicule Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata in court.

President Akufo Addo’s lawyer, while making a submission, made a statement to insinuate that he does not claim to have a monopoly of constitutional knowledge and he does not claim to know better than the Judges unlike one of the lawyers amongst them who claims to be well versed in the law than the lawyers.

A vast number of people think that Mr. Akoto Ampaw’s statement is visibly directed at Tsatsu Tsikata, a lawyer for the Petitioner, John Dramani Mahama.

Lots of people view Tsatsu Tsikata as one who behaves as if he knows everything with respect to the law, therefore, parading himself as a lecturer to the judges while others rain praises on him for his high sense of knowledge on constitutional matters as they nicknamed him, “the law.”

Lawyer Akoto Ampaw who appears very humble in court in the eyes of many Ghanaians contrary to Mr. Tsatsu’s conduct did not find it well with some social media users as they reacted to his submission on social media, raining unpalatable words on him while his sympathizers ran to his defense.
