Hawa Koomson Punished Us In School Because Of Vernacular – AJ Sterling

A young man by name AJ Sterling has joined the list of social media users who have resorted to their social media pages to troll Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson, Member of Parliament for Senya East Constituency over her bad fluency in the English Language during her vetting on February 18 as Minister-designate for Fisheries and Aquaculture.

When the Minister-designate was asked by the Appointments Committee of Parliament to define Fish Farming, she said laughingly,

“Thank you Mr. Chairman, I will try my best. Fish Farming is the process of rearing fish in the reservoirs, fish ponds etc…” and she proceeded to state some advantages of fish farming saying, “One advantages of fish farming is it makes the farmer earn some income and it also increases fish in the community for consumption…”

Following the answers given by Hawa Koomson, her critics keep saying she does not deserve any Ministerial portfolio in this country because of her weak command over the English Language.

AJ Sterling who claimed to have ever been Mavis Hawa Koomson’s student at ICODEHS Islamic School at Kasoa said the latter, during her days as a headmistress, enforced the speaking of English Language with severe chastisement on students who were caught speaking a local language.

The Twitter user, AJ Sterling wrote:

Hawa Koomson was my headmaster at icodehs Islamic JHS at kasoa and it’s very pathetic to see how she saying English is not our mother tongue. She enforced us to speak English anytime we are in school..punished us mercilessly at school whenever student speaks vernacular.
