Mr. Koku Anyidoho, Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has questioned the wisdom behind the numerous streets protests embarked by the NDC to register their dissatisfaction in the 2020 Presidential results declared by the Electoral Commission while they knew they lacked evidence to corroborate their claim that they won the election.
The NDC in most parts of the country before filing a petition in court embarked on post-election demonstrations characterized by burning of tyres on streets and causing lots of disturbances claiming they won the election and that the Electoral Commission rigged the election in favour of the President-elect.
Interrogated by the court, Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the party who is the first witness for the petitioner, John Dramani Mahama, in court denied the party ever claiming they won the elections.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia has also admitted in his cross-examination in Court that the NDC does not have any collated results contrary to the EC’s and this necessitated a question from Mr., Koku Anyidoho on his Tweeter page for the NDC.
In a tweet, the former Deputy General Secretary wrote:
What was the basis for all the street protests, burning of tyres, destruction of public properties, & the loss of lives?
