Samuel Atta-Kyea, the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South has in a tribute for late former President Jerry John Rawlings definite how he became friends with the NDC Founder.
In the tribute which was captured in the handout, Atta-Kyea retold the story of how a call from Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to address Jerry John Rawlings in a common case birthed their relationship.
He describes, “so what united a known NPP Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South who is also a lawyer with impressive lawful practice and the founding father of NDC and Ghana’s longest-serving head of state Flt Lt JJ Rawlings (Rtd)?”
He proceeds, “Indeed, it was the unflagging spouse of our departed former president, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, who had me to consider putting my legitimate ability at the removal of her husband in regards to the dispatch of a book named ‘JJ Rawlings and the Democratic Transition in Ghana’ wrote by my own brother Prof. Kwaku Danso-Boafo”.
According to reports in 2014, Professor Danso-Boafo had been locked in by Rawlings to compose his biography.
Having procured his trust, Rawlings revealed certain important data to Professor Danso-Boafo in certainty.
This data was not intended to be in the book yet Professor Danso-Boafo, as per the Rawlings’ own record, captured those expressions of his in the book.
