Riad Hosiefe, an ex-soldier, in an interview with Accra-based Asempa FM revealed that Kweku Baako Jnr.’s life almost got truncated had the late former President Jerry John Rawlings not intervened.
According to Mr, Riad, the veteran journalist, Kweku Baako called the former President a “Bastard” and some military men including him planned to eliminate Kweku Baako from the earth.
However, Rawlings, according to Riad had a hint of what was about to happen to Mr. Baako and intervened with immediate effect to save the veteran journalist from being killed.
“Rawlings said if anything should happen to Kweku Baako, he would hold us responsible so we stooped. Kweku Baako Jnr owes his life to Rawlings,” the veteran soldier said.
According to Mr. Riad, he was recounting how Rawlings saved the life of Kweku Baako to let the world know that despite Rawlings’ shortcomings, he had a soft side contrary to peoples’ ugly perception about him.
