Dear Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum,
The People Of Ghana after the 2016 General elections were very expectant of the Promises President Akufo-Addo had made prior to the elections. One of these many promises included the Free Shs. Considering how sensitive it was to the President and the People Of Ghana he needed strong hardworking personalities to steer the implementation of this policy.
Yourself your Predecessor Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and Prof. Yankah were then chosen to wheel the Sector. A Herculean task you all performed extremely well in the first term of H.E Akufo-Addo.
Today, as the Minister -Designate for Education by the First Gentleman of the Republic, I congratulate your able personality for this elevation to be the face of the sector.
The prowess you exhibited during your days as Deputy Minister heaped loads of praises for you.
Now as the substantive Minister in awaiting many would want to experience more of the humble hardworking Dr. we saw in the first term.
I know as deputy minister you surely witnessed how challenging this sector is especially how the Teacher Unions are quick to attack the media space when issues arise. Your predecessor was good at managing their attacks with his charismatic style. I equally know you would adapt a perfect strategy as well to clean some of this menace should they arise.
It is evident the people of Ghana and stakeholders within the Education fraternity laud your exploits as MP for Bosomtwe, with your recently demonstrated gesture of helping 30 new Engineer students from your constituency to study at UNER.
A beautiful initiative many would love to see you extend to every corner of the country as you lead the Education Ministry.
Let me also remind you that many out there remain expectant to see how you would handle the FSHS(in the absence of double track), the famous Public University Bill, the worrisome Infrastructure Challenges, the nouveau Curriculum for Basic Schools among a host of other reforms which began under your Predecessor. A real test it is for your undoubted competence.
As you seek to make the people of Ghana proud, I would urge you to look focused and deliver on your mandate to justify the undeniable confidence posed in you by the President.
The task looks challenging but I trust your excellent Persona to drive the sector into greater heights. May the good Lord who used Joshua to lead the Israelites to the promise land in the absence of Moses, lead you through this journey.
