PRINCOF React To Double Track System in Colleges of Education

A decision made by the Conference of the Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) due to the lack of infrastructure to accommodate New Bachelor of Education Trainees since the colleges of education have been upgraded to be a degree-awarding institution in October 2018 is the bring of Double Track System to existence in Colleges of Education.

Teacher trainees from the 46 colleges of education in the country will from tomorrow 11th January 2021 adopt the current norm of the free SHS educational system which is popularly referred to as the Double Track System.

It will be recalled that all Colleges of Education on the 3rd of December, 2020 indicated on the 2nd batch of admission letters sent to successful applicants that the reopening date for new students is 11th January, 2021.

PRINCOF therefore has released 2020/2021 academic year for all colleges of Education which will be used to monitor these proposed Double track system.

Below is the academic calendar to monitor the Double Track System.


1.Sunday, 10th January 2021 fumigation exercise will take in th 46 colleges of education.

2.New Students and level 200 students will resume on 12th January 2021.

3.Level 200 students will have six weeks of academic activities on campus.

4.Level 300 students will also start Online lectures at their various homes and continue lectures on campus after 200 students have left campus.

  1. Date for level 300 students to report to campus is 22nd February, 2021
