Eleven shops at the mini-market close to the Republic Hall on the campus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology have been destroyed by fire on Sunday dawn, January 10.
Firefighters’ intervention ensured that the fire did not escalate to the Republic Hall.
Students who were living in the hall immediately vacated the hall until the fire was controlled.
Dr. Daniel Norries Bekoe, the University’s Public Relations Officer told the media that neither students nor their properties were affected.
He said, “We want to place on record that no student or their properties were destroyed or affected by the fire. We want to assure the students and parents that the school is very safe, and they should ignore all misinformation on social media.”
