NDC ready to halt EC’s declaration of Election 2020

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is preparing to storm the Supreme Court to halt the Electoral Commission’s declaration of the 2020 Presidential elections on Tuesday December 8.

The Electoral Commissioner (EC), Jean Mensah earlier stressed on the Commission’s commitment to declaring the results within 24 hours after the elections.

Now with the EC all set to announce the certified results, and the NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo on course to be announced as winner of the Presidential elections according to the EC’s tally, the NDC party is heading to the apex court to ask for the results to be delayed.

The NDC earlier announced to it’s supporters in the early hours of Tuesday, that they had won the elections based on the results of some Parliamentary seats they claimed to have “flipped”.

Results from the Electoral Commission has however proven to be in favour of the ruling NPP, with the incumbent government also set to retain its majority in parliament.

With results from all 275 constituencies in, the EC appears poised to announce the certified results and declare Nana Akufo-Addo as President elect.
