Fast rising talented Ghanaian songstress Gyakie has said in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz [103.9] Fm yesterday December 1, that she’s never had a boyfriend before & she’s yet to experience what love is. She went ahead to say that even though she’s young and have not had any sexual relationship. Hence, it doesn’t invalidate the breath taking nice love songs she’s made. The “Sor Me Mu” hit maker thinks love is what she imagines it to be like, what she reads in books and what she hears others sing about in their songs. Beautiful Gyakie says her music journey so far has been fun due to encouraging complements & love she’s been getting from fans praising her craft and beauty.
Gyakie, daughter of the legendary highlife singer, Nana Ernest Acheampong (Nana Acheampong) who produced hit songs like Cassanova among others which young and aged Ghanaians jam to even till date – her daughter believes to be doing something not too far from the genre her father does, which is highlife. She said confidently that she may drop a highlife song in the next minute, who knows? She says she’s versatile & thus can switch between genres for commercial purposes. Also, she stated that she records with her father sometimes since she started to do music officially in 2019 & has since not had any criticism from her dad except that from friends & fans who always complained she doesn’t reply her dms.
The songstress has released a couple of singles & currently has a five track EP she calls “SEED” out making waves on streaming platforms & pubs. Gyakie describes her EP as a true version of herself, her original sounds & the songs in her EP are stronghold genres she does therefore, she didn’t feature any artiste on any of the songs – absolutely solo tracks. Gyakie says she admires Reggae Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy & wants to work with him badly. She further said that they’ve been recording & this I think should energize funs of her to expect a collaboration from Gyakie & Stonebwoy. “Stonebwoy is not the only artist in Ghana I want to work with, I want to work with top artistes like Adina” she added.
She revealed that she doesn’t have a crush on any Ghanaian celebrity not because they’re not nice but probably they’re money doesn’t catch her. She said her childhood crush was famous pop singer Justin Bieber when Justin was the Chris Brown of today.
