There Is No Prosperity In It, Stop

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 11th day of Jumaada Al-Awwal (Monday 6th of January, 2020).

Gambling means to give or take money or goods depending on something that is not known how it will end. No matter what the name is, any game or bet that has this property and that is played in return for money or goods is called gambling in Shariah. For example, lottery, sports betting and the like. Remember the nice name with which we refer to the forms of gambling today does not change the reality or fact that what we do is still gambling. So let’s have the fear of Allah, the Most High, the Most Glorious.
It is very pathetic, worrying and worth tearing for, considering the fact that most of today’s youth and even including some of the older generation regard all these forms of gambling as their sole source of making money. They want to make money just an overnight since they are lazy. But let’s bear in mind that our source of income shall be enquired about. Also the “how” of spending the money shall be questioned. So both the source or means and the way of spending our income would be asked about. So one who earns his or her income through halal or lawful means and also spends it on the way in which Allah, the Most High, the Most Glorious is pleased with, is the one who is saved. As for the one who earns through the haraam or unlawful means and spends even in the way of Allah, his matter is to be questioned, same applies to he or she who earns through the halal means yet spends it on a Haram way.
When we take a closer look at the harms caused to people as a result of this so called gambling, we see that its disadvantages far outweigh the advantages. So why risk your financial wellbeing by engaging in gambling. Our haste would not bring closer to us that which was never meant for us, neither can our reluctant attitude towards seeking our wealth prevent us from getting that which was meant for us. So be patient by dear brother and sister in Islam and humanity at large.
ALLAH says:
“O ye who believe! Intoxicants (Alcohol) and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination of Satan’s handiwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper. Satan’s plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of ALLAH, and from prayer (al-Maida, 5/90, 91.

There is no difference between alcohol and gambling in terms of being forbidden and being a sin. ALLAH renders them haram in the same verse above so please stop the football betting and all sort of betting and Lottery if indeed you are a Muslim.
If we want to prosper, we should not go near those things says ALLAH so my question is, are you doubting ALLAH and think you will prosper? No chance in a billion so please stop and rely on ALLAH through hard work.
May ALLAH, AR-RAZZAAQ, The ONE who creates all means of nourishment and sustenance protect us from any satanic traps. Aameen.
