Two men; 45 years old Kaasim Castro and Agyenim Boateng Solomon, a 59 year old poultry farmer have been held for possessing drugs suspected to be Indian hamp.
In Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region a routine operation by police has led to the retrieval of 220 slabs of illicit drugs.
The police commander of Sekyere South District, Superintendent Kofi Ghampson said, the police arrested Kassim Castro on, November 1, 2020 at Kyei Garden, a popular location in wiamoase known for harbouring drugs peddlers and other criminals.
Kassim Castro then led the police to the poultry farm where six fertilizer saces containing parcels of drug leaves were retrieved from one of the rooms that stores poultry feeds.
Kassim Castro conceded that the drugs belong to Solomon Agyenim Boateng who is known to the police because he has been arrested for similar offense.
The police commander superintendent Kofi Ghampson concluded that they’re conducting investigations to know the source of his supply so they break that chain.
