A student has been arrested in connection with the recent prank armed robbery attack launched on the University of Cape Coast (UCC), the police there has said.
On October 13, the school was thrown into a state of chaos as students following the announcement of the alleged robbery attack.
This was after one student announced in a lecture hall, after receiving a call from an unknown person, that a lecture theatre had been attacked, so theirs was next.
Chaotic scenes from the UCC Campus were shared on social media following these alleged attacks of students by men armed with knives and guns.
Many of them took to social media with the hashtag #UCCLivesMatter which trended at the number one spot on Twitter that day.
School authorities, however, said investigations into the matter proved the reports were false.
Upon further investigations, a student who is said to have engineered the prank was arrested, but, has been granted bail.
