It is exactly 48 days separating Ghanaians from the much anticipated 2020 general elections. Ghanaians will have the opportunity to exercise their franchise on the next Presidential and parliamentary candidates to lead the nation and steer its affairs. The battle is between the two major parties who have all completed their tickets of candidates for both Presidential and parliamentary aspirants.



The flagbearer of the opposition NDC, John Dramani Mahama secured the second position on the ballot paper for the impending elections which is officially scheduled for December 7, 2020. This position has been respectively been interpreted and touted by many supporters as a sign of Mahama’s return to lead the nation for another second time.


Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress has said that the NDC is very satisfied with the position the Electoral Commission has placed them. He has given his own interpretation concerning the second position on the ballot paper. He has that John Mahama’s position was originally intended by God indicating that he will rule the nation again for the second term.



He has launched a fresh attack on President Akuffo Addo and described his first position in the ballot paper as a clear indication of his failure to deal with corruption and ethnocentrism.
According to Sammy Gyamfi, President Akuffo Addo has been placed number one because he is the most corrupt and tips the list of leaders who engage in nepotism.
Soon after the Electoral Commission officially announced the positions of the presidential candidates on the ballot paper, Sammy Gyamfi took to his official Facebook page to compose;

“Akuffo Addo will be number 1 on the ballot. Number one in corruption. Number one in vindictiveness. Number in ethnocentrism. Number one in lawlessness. John Mahama will be number 2 on the ballot.”

Meanwhile, Mr. John Boadu who serves the ruling New Patriotic Party’s Chief Scribe has registered his satisfaction on the number one position of President Akuffo Addo on the ballot.
