A Total Eclipse will occur in the month of December…
Warning to those who will be traveling to the southernmost parts of Africa as it can cause you total blindness!!!
It was a common saying that “if you want to hide something from African, put it in writing”. But now it is not so because majority of Africans read. Thanks to social media platforms like Opera Mini and Opera News!
Sometime past, when there was going to be an eclipse, news will be broadcasted to the general public for awareness as it can cause total blindness.
A total eclipse will occur on 14th December 2020. It will be visible to people in the southernmost parts of Africa, parts of South America, Asia and Antarctica.
A solar eclipse or eclipse of the sun occurs when the moon passes between Earth and Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the sun for a viewer on Earth.
Exposing your eyes to the sun without proper eye protection during a solar eclipse can cause “eclipse blindness” or retinal burns, also known as retinopathy.
This exposure to the light can cause damage or even destroy cells in the retina (the back of the eye) that transmits what you see to the brain.
Tips for you:
Never look directly at the sun during eclipse.
When you experience any problem on the eyes from incidentally watching, talk with your eye care professional for treatment.
