Cashier dead, police officers hospitalised in Bullion Van attack

AK-47 gun-wielding men have made away with an unspecified amount of cash after attacking a bullion van on Friday.

The incident is reported to have occurred on the Manso-Mem road in the Ashanti Region resulting in the death of a cashier.

The attack from the gunmen numbering seven according to reports resulted in injuries to four passengers on board the Toyota Hilux van belonging to a yet to be identified bank.

Unfortunately, the cashier of the bank passed on at the hospital with one person identified as a police officer been discharged following treatment.

A police officer and the driver of the van remain hospitalized at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital as police begin an investigation into the incident.
