Chelsea first 11 out

It’s about only a day to the commencement of the 2020/21 English Premier League, the most watched and competitive league across the whole of Europe. The corona virus has left many teams handicapped in this seasons summer transfer window. The story has however not been the same for Chelsea who have acquired the service of about 5 players already: Malang Sarr from Nice, Werner from Leipzig, Ziyech from Ajax, Thiago Silver from Paris Saint Germain, Ben Chilwell from Leicester and Havertz from Leverkusen.

These signings may affect the young talents who sweated their hearts out for Chelsea particularly Tammy Abraham and others like Reece James. Nonetheless Chelsea’s first 11 is one that is expected to undergo a lot of rotation and changes taking into account Lampard’s high hope and belief in the club’s youth system.×250&!1&btvi=1&fsb=1&xpc=bjUNaMA4ow&p=https%3A//

Typical of Lampard, Chelsea will start the season with a 4-3-3 formation. Subject to change, the backline will consist of Azpilicueta, Silva, Zouma and Chilwell with Azpilicueta and Chilwell as right back and left back respectively. Havertz, Ngolo Kante and Mason Mount will sit in the middle with Kante as a defensive midfielder. The left and right wings will be occupied by Pulisic and Ziyech respectively with Werner taking the charge ahead of them as a striker but with Pulisic injured, Hudson Odoi may take his place for now. Reece James may occasionally come in to replace Azpilicueta and Rudiger for Zouma. Kovacic will also rotate with Mason Mount and Giroud/Abraham for Werner. As it is, Kepa will maintain the number 1 spot in post but the club continue to look for another option who will mainly be a back up option for Kepa should he dip in form again.

Chelsea are set for good business this season and we should expect nothing but the best from the team this season.
