As part of the measures taken to enhance lives and most importantly to ensure students and teachers carry on with their activities during this tragic COVID-19 season. Vodafone Ghana in association with University of Ghana went into an agreement to help students and teachers continue their activities online.
To facilitate access to the Sakai Learning Management Platform, Vodafone Ghana arranged for University of Ghana Students to pick up new Vodafone SIM cards available at all Vodafone Retail outlets throughout the country. This SIM card came with an awesome package. It gave each student a 5gb data bundle, 150 minutes of cross-net calls plus IDD and 100 SMS. This special dispensation was to be renewed on the 25th of every month.
Well, students did enjoy it for a while, as they had enough bundle to access Sakai and write their various exams. The sad news is that, students thought this package had come to stay, till the recent circulating messages sent by Vodafone Ghana to UG students, informing them that this special dispensation is over.
