Well, the Guinness Book of World Records, is a reference book published annually, listing world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. I’m sure you never thought Ghanaians were part? Weeell, we’re here to confirm that yessss! There are Ghanaians repping live and colored in the popular book. On that note, let’s take a look at some Ghanaians who have made the list.

  1. Freddie Ato Adoboe

Ferdie Ato Adoboe, a Ghanaian athlete ran 100m in 13.6 sec (100 yds in 12.7sec) at Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, USA on the 25th of July 1991.

2. Daniel Ashitey Amarh And Richard Mensah Ofori

Daniel Ashitey Amarh and Richard Mensah Ofori made the record for the fastest time to walk over ten obstacles while carrying a person on the head (standing on one foot) within 21.83 sec in Milan, Italy, on the 27th of April 2011.

3. Dickson Oppong

Dickson Oppong also known as Waterman made the record as the longest time to spray water uninterruptedly from his mouth under 32.65 seconds. He attained it on the set of a CCTV Guinness World Records Special, in Beijing, China, on 6 December 2012. Although He has however, been overthrown by Twenty-year-old Kirubel Yilma from Ethiopia with a record of 56.36 seconds.

Ghana entered the Guinness World Records book for the world’s longest dinner table at an occasion that saw nearly 3,000 guests for a feast. The event, which was held at Independence (Black Stars) Square in Accra was organised by Promasidor Ghana Limited, the creators of ONGA food seasoning. The Guinness World Records, was also on hand to certify the feat, revealed that the record-breaking table measures an impressive 1,928 meters (or 6,325 feet and 5 inches).
