The promise by President Akufo-Addo to provide one hot meal a day for final year students of Junior High Schools in the Country seem to come to fruition as images of the food being provided to the students has emerged.
President Akufo-Addo has on his 15th state of the Nation Address stated that, he has directed the Minister of Gender, Children and social protection to begin the provision of one hot meal a day for final year students of Junior High Schools in the Country beginning today 24th, August 2020.
According to the President, this decision was based on reports he received which indicates that, a number of the students are going hungry due to the observation of safety protocols in the Schools which prevents the students from going out to buy food outside of their Schools.
He further indicated that, the intervention must cover both Public and private Schools and staff of these Schools are also included in it.
Subsequent to the directive, Caterers responsible for the food have come out with a time table for the menu to be used.
