Shatta Wale hits 2 million monthly streams on Spotify

A new Spotify record has been set by our own, one of the biggest in the country. No, it is neither Sarkodie nor Stonbwoy.

But Ghana’s African dancehall king has achieved yet another feat in the music industry. Previously holding the record for 1 million monthly listeners has now raised the bar to 2 million monthly streams on Spotify.

This is a big win for Shatta Wale and his Shatta movement. His fans could not hide their joy on social media. He is tagged as a local champion but his latest achievement has set the pace for Ghanaian artistes.

He recently peaked at number on Popvortex World Album chart with the Reign album, the first Ghanaian artiste to do so.

Before you are tempted to say his numbers are because he collaborated with Beyonce, be reminded none of the popular tracks listed is “Already”.

Despite COVID-19, 2020 seems to be a wonderful year for Shatta Wale and his brand keeps getting stronger by the day.
