Next NDC administration will abolish witch camps – Naana Opoku Agyemang

Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the Vice Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says should their party return to power, witch camps will be abolished in the country. She said this when she addressed some inmates of the Gambaga Witches Camp in the East Mamprusi District. The NDC vice presidential candidate, who is on a campaign tour of the North East region, promised to enforce that witch camps become a thing of the past. She said their administration will not habour witch camps, since they tarnish the country’s image and democratic status. “We shall tackle this menace decisively,” Jane Opoku-Agyemang said, while rallying: “All those interested in the all-inclusive development of the country should support the NDC to return to power.” “The 2020 election campaign will be based on records, and not insults. We have done it before, and we will do it again,” she added.

Before this, the Minister of Gender and Social Intervention Cynthia Morrison, had declared that the government will phase out all witch camps in the country earlier this month.
