Users all over social media are obviously unhappy over the recent actions of a Kumawood actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr. Beautiful. The actor has been making several remarks these days and it seems Ghanaians are not too happy with him for those comments.
Mr. Beautiful is part of a group of actors and actresses who have declared their allegiance to the former president and flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama. He has made a lot of statements in aid of the former president.
He has also castigated the current Nana Akuffo Addo government a number of times. He has blamed the president for the delay in passage of the creative arts bill, etc.
This time, his remarks is targeted at former president, H.E. John Agyekum Kuffour. According to Mr. Beautiful, the fall of a one time most watched comedy show, titled Concert Party is to be laid on the doorstep of former president Kuffour.
When asked for his reason for making that claim, Mr. Beautiful said the former president Kuffour’s policies was the cause of the extinction of the show which was aired on Ghana’s national television, GTV.
He said when Mrs. Eva Lokkoh was given the post to head the national television station , GTV, she implemented a policy which doubled the sponsorship cost of the show. The new cost seemed not suitable for the sponsor of the show, Lever Brothers LTD. This led to the withdrawal of Lever Brothers from sponsoring Concert Party again and the show was called off.
When asked why he would put all the blames of Eva Lokkoh’s policies on president Kuffour, Mr. Beautiful said president Kuffour appointed Eva Lokkoh to GBC, and should be blamed for the outcome of her policies.
He was speaking live on Okay FM’s entertainment show hosted by Halifax.
Later the actions of Mr. Beautiful, Ghanaians expressed their opinions on the matter at hand. Below were some of the comments made by Ghanaians on social media.
