3 SDA STUDENT BOYCOTT WASSCE EXAMS SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY

Three bold Agona Senior High Technical School students who said they couldn’t ignore their strict observance of Saturday as the Lord’s Sabbath day as members of the Seventh Day Adventists (SDA) Church, last Saturday boycotted the Asante Twi paper in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

They said they won’t write the Twi Exams because its said in the scriptures to remember the sabbath day and to Keep it Holy (Exodus 20:8).

The students said that they would prefer to register and write the paper in the November-December edition of the test, if it is scheduled for any other day apart from Saturday than to disregard their religious beliefs.
