NDC will be in Opposition for 15-30years – Rev. Owusu Bempah

Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah, Founder and Chief of the Foreign Glorious Word Ministry, said that it would take 15 to 30 years to return to power for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, the NDC should ignore the 2020 general election, adding that it is not as though the NDC has insulted God for which they must remain in opposition for a longer time, but there are reasons which must keep them in opposition for several years unless they work for it.

Rev Owusu Bempah said, referring to the factors that will keep this NDC opposite, pointed out that the former President of the NDC cannot become president again in the spirit, but it is also a big mistake for the party founder JJ Rawlings and his wife to have been sworn into people such as Allotey Jacobs, Koku Anyidoho, Anita D-Soso, Yaw Boateng Gyan.

“The success of the NDC would be very difficult for denying these people aside from the fact that in the celestial world, Mahama cannot become President again. These aforementioned personalities in the NDC that former President Mahama is not taking them serious and has rather gone for the likes of Sammy Gyamfi, it will be difficult for the NDC to gain power,” he said.

He added that the likes of Jerry John Rawlings and former President Kuffour are not to be rejected as their presence in their respective political parties adds more value and honour to the fibre and progress of the party; thus, supporting the party with their hearts and spirit keep the parties moving forward.

“I will urge the NDC to listen to good counsel and I don’t believe that the NPP will stay in power forever; maybe after 30 years or maybe after 15 years or some years, God will change for another person to come to power, but the NDC should put their house in order before they come back to power after many years”.

“If they put their house in order and add fervent prayer, they will come to power again but the most important thing is for them to put things in order. They will forget this 2020 election. He stressed that it is not as though they have offended Him, but Him chooses Kings or leaders for the nations.”

He said that those who pray for former President John Mahama would have told him from the beginning not to waste his time to stand for the 2020 general election; hence, he would have allowed another person to run for the NDC because this would have affected the course of the NDC in the upcoming election.

He, however, cautioned the opposition NDC not to put former President John Mahama after the 2020 general election loss but pave way for other candidates including Professor Joshua Alabi, Hon Kingsford Alban Bagbin and other competent people to stand for the group.

“The explanation is that former President Mahama is done with his job as a President and so I would advise the NDC not to carry him again after the 2020 general election. You should consider another candidate, that’s better for the NDC, to stand for the party. Professor Joshua Alabi, Alban Bagbin and other potential candidates are in the party,” he advised.

Yet he was optimistic that some of the top-class opposition NDCs will go ahead to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
