On Thursday, the two police officers who fear drowning at Kobro in the Amansie Western Central District of the Ashanti region, performed a Rescue Mission to recover the bodies of the two police official.
Both belong to a team of robbing criminals in the Kobrin Region, a vegetation near Obuasi known as illegal mining.
The squad, who returned from the mission, was hit by the disastrous incident, when the canoe used to make the journey into the Oda River broke down on its banks.
The accident that took place on Wednesday morning led to the officials being looked at when local divers joined a staff of the Local Police Station to retrieve the officers’ bodies.
Martin Assenso said: “The police and divers of the local police forces joined Obuasi’s Crime Scene Officers to hunt for the bodies at this time. The numbers are four and when the incident occurred they returned to a regular patrol operation. They were reported missing right now.
The name of the officers are; G/L/Cpl Stephen Kyeremeh and G/L/Cpl Amedius Akwesi Boateng, from the Obuasi Division, the Ghana Police Service said this on their Facebook official page.
